Krysten Taprell is a psychologist from Australia who have worked for 20 years with children and families. She has implemented social and emotional learning programs in primary schools and authored a children’s book about coping with nightmares, which will be released this year. There is so much to learn from her, to name a few, she mentioned about understanding children’s brain development, valuing the kids’ feelings as people like all of us, co-regulating with kids during a tantrum and allowing them to automatically breathe when you put your hand on the child’s diaphragm. She also discussed why punishments don’t work and how to use reward charts effectively.
